Xiaomi: Add a Print Service in MIUI

If a print dialog on your Xiaomi phone shows no printer at all, no print service is registered in MIUI yet. Most phones only come with a driver for Epson devices, so printers from other brands stay invisible until you install their own service. Without that step, apps like a PDF viewer or browser can never send a job to your printer.

Add a Print Service auf Xiaomi

Printing a PDF form or boarding pass directly from a Xiaomi phone only works if a matching print service is registered in MIUI. Without one, no printer icon shows up in the share sheet or print dialog of any app.

MIUI includes basic printing support in Settings, but only an installed driver makes a specific printer appear. Xiaomi phones commonly ship with a driver for Epson printers by default; devices from other brands need their own print service downloaded separately.

To add one, open SettingsConnection & sharingPrintingAdd service. Pick the matching print service from the list and confirm with Install. MIUI adds the app to the Printing list and switches it on automatically.

Once installed, the printer still needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network or paired via Bluetooth, otherwise the service finds no device to send jobs to. If nothing shows up after installing, confirm the printer is powered on and connected to the same network before trying again.

Frequently asked questions

The phone and printer usually need to be on the same Wi-Fi network, or paired via Bluetooth for wireless models. Check the printer's network connection first, then reopen the print dialog.
