Xiaomi: Change the Alarm Volume

If the alarm on your Xiaomi phone barely wakes you up or does not go off loud enough, the alarm volume is set too low system-wide. This one setting controls every alarm you create, and it stays the same even after the snooze function kicks in.

Change Alarm Volume auf Xiaomi

Xiaomi phones store the alarm volume separately from media, ringtone, and notification volume. A low alarm volume means every alarm you set will sound quiet, regardless of how loud your ringtone or media playback is configured.

This value does not reset when you snooze an alarm. Once increased, the new volume applies to the current alarm and any future alarms until you change it again.

Where to change it

Open SettingsSound & vibration. In this menu, find the alarm volume control and swipe left or right on it to lower or raise the level.

Test the new level right away by letting an existing alarm trigger, or by using the preview sound if your device offers one in the same menu. If the alarm still feels too quiet after raising this slider to maximum, check that Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode is not silencing alarms separately, since some Focus profiles override alarm volume for scheduled quiet hours.

If you only want a louder ringtone or notification sound and alarms already work fine, adjust those separately in the same Sound & vibration menu instead of the alarm slider.

Frequently asked questions

No. The alarm volume slider in SettingsSound & vibration only controls alarms. Media, ringtone, and notification volume each have their own separate sliders in the same menu.
