Allow or Deny Face Unlock When Screen Lights Up auf Xiaomi
On Xiaomi phones running MIUI, Face unlock can be configured to trigger the moment the screen turns on, not just when you deliberately raise the phone or press the power button. This is convenient for fast access but it also means the phone can unlock itself whenever a notification, alarm, or call lights up the display.
The setting sits inside the same menu used to manage Face unlock itself, so it requires your current unlock credential before it can be changed.
Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Passwords & security ➔ Tap on Face unlock ➔ Enter the current Pattern, PIN or Password ➔ Enable or disable Allow Face unlock when screen lights up
Enabling the option means the phone attempts facial verification automatically every time the screen wakes, including from notifications. Disabling it means Face unlock only runs when you actively try to unlock, for example by pressing the power button or tapping the display with that intent.
Turning the option off is the safer choice if you frequently leave the phone face-up on a desk or table, since it prevents the lock screen content from being bypassed by accidental wake events. Leaving it on is faster for one-handed use but increases the chance of the phone unlocking while you are not looking at it, which can briefly expose whatever app or notification appears next.
If Face unlock still does not respond correctly after adjusting this setting, check that face data is enrolled correctly and that no case or accessory is blocking the front camera area.
