App Location Permission Settings auf Xiaomi
On Xiaomi phones running MIUI, every app that requests location data gets its own permission level. Some apps ask for constant background access even though they only need your position while open, which is a common reason for faster battery drain and unnecessary background activity.
You can review and change this for each app individually under Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Location ➔ Tap on App access to location ➔ Choose an app ➔ Choose an option.
Which option to pick
Choose Always Allow only for apps that genuinely need your position in the background, such as navigation tools used while the screen is off. For most other apps, Allow only while using the app is enough and limits tracking to the moments you actually have the app open.
If an app has never needed your location, you can revoke access completely from the same screen. This does not delete the app or its other permissions, it only stops that specific app from reading your position.
Changing the setting takes effect immediately, no restart needed. If an app misbehaves afterward, for example showing outdated location-based content, reopen it once so it can request fresh data under the new permission.
