Archive a Conversation in Messages auf Xiaomi
The Messages app on Xiaomi phones lists every conversation in one continuous feed, sorted by the latest activity. Once a chat you rarely open stays near the top because of an old reply, it starts crowding out the conversations you actually check every day.
Archiving moves a conversation out of the main list without deleting a single message. The chat, its media, and its notification settings stay untouched, only the entry disappears from the default view.
To archive a chat, open Tap on Messages ➔ Tap and hold a Conversation ➔ Tap on Archive. The conversation is now stored in the archive section instead of the main overview.
Archiving works well for conversations you want to keep for reference, such as shipping confirmations or one-off contacts, but do not need to see daily. It is a better fit than deleting when you might need to search the chat again later.
If a new message arrives in an archived conversation, MIUI moves it back to the main list automatically on most setups, since new activity is treated as a reason to resurface the chat. You can also unarchive a conversation manually at any point, and nothing about the conversation itself changes during the process.
