Turn Auto-correction On or Off auf Xiaomi
Auto-correction on Xiaomi phones runs through the MIUI keyboard and quietly replaces words it thinks you meant to type. That works well for common typos, but it often misfires on names, abbreviations or mixed-language texts, which is why some people prefer to turn it off completely.
The setting lives inside the keyboard management area, not in the general text settings, so it can be easy to miss on first search. Follow this path: Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Additional settings ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Manage keyboards ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Text correction ➔ Enable or disable Auto-correction.
Once you are in Text correction, the toggle applies system-wide for the active keyboard, so every app that uses text input is affected, not just messaging apps.
If you only want fewer aggressive suggestions rather than none at all, check the other options next to Auto-correction in the same menu before switching it off entirely. Disabling it fully means you type exactly what you type, including typos, so it suits people who often use technical terms, usernames or non-standard spelling.
