Turn Auto-Rotation On or Off auf Xiaomi
Auto-rotation on Xiaomi phones is controlled by a single switch in the display settings, but a second control point lives in the quick settings panel. When these two settings contradict each other, the screen appears stuck even though the main toggle looks correct.
Open Settings ➔ Display ➔ toggle Auto-rotate screen. This is the main switch: turn it on to let the screen follow the position of the device, or off to lock the current orientation regardless of how you hold the phone.
The notification shade holds a shortcut for the same function, usually shown as a rotation icon. Swipe down twice to reach quick settings and check whether it shows a locked or unlocked state. If someone tapped this shortcut, it overrides the setting in Display until you tap it again.
Some apps request a fixed orientation on their own, for example camera apps or games. In that case the app ignores auto-rotation entirely, and the setting in Display has no effect until you close the app.
If the screen still does not rotate after checking both switches, a restart clears cached sensor data and often resolves the issue without changing any setting.
