Automatic App Updates Settings auf Xiaomi
On most Xiaomi phones, the Play Store limits automatic app updates to Wi-Fi connections by default. This keeps mobile data usage low but means apps stay outdated whenever you rely on cellular data for longer periods.
The setting lives inside the Play Store app itself, not in the phone system settings. It controls every app installed through the store, so changing it affects all your apps at once rather than a single title.
To adjust it, open Play Store and tap your Google account icon. Go to Settings, then General, and select Auto-update apps.
From there you can choose Over any network if you want updates regardless of connection type, Over Wi-Fi only to keep the default behavior, or Don't auto-update apps to update manually. Confirm your choice with Done.
Switching to any network makes sense if you have a generous data plan and want apps current at all times. If your plan is limited, keeping updates on Wi-Fi only or disabling automatic updates avoids unexpected data charges.
Turning off automatic updates does not affect Xiaomi system updates or MIUI security patches, only the apps managed through the Play Store.
