Turn Automatic Date & Time On or Off auf Xiaomi
Xiaomi phones sync date and time automatically through the mobile network or Wi-Fi connection. This works well most of the time, but weak signal, airplane mode, or a recent SIM swap can delay the update and leave you with an incorrect clock.
The setting responsible for this behavior is called Use network-provided time. As long as it stays enabled, MIUI overwrites any manual changes you make to the date or time fields.
Where to find the setting
Open Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Date & time and look for Use network-provided time. Disable the toggle to unlock manual date and time fields, or enable it again to let the network take over.
Turning the option off makes sense when you travel across time zones faster than your carrier updates, when you use a local-only SIM without data, or when you deliberately want a different displayed time for testing an app. In every other case, keeping automatic time on avoids missed alarms, wrong timestamps in photos, and login errors in apps that check server time.
