Disable Automatic Video and Image Downloads in Mi Browser auf Xiaomi
Mi Browser on Xiaomi phones preloads videos and images in the background so pages feel faster when you scroll. This behavior is controlled by a media setting inside the browser app itself, not by the general Android data saver.
On a limited mobile data plan, this preloading adds up quickly, especially on pages with lots of thumbnails or embedded videos. Disabling it stops the browser from fetching media automatically and only loads it once you actually open or tap on it.
To change this, go to Tap on Mi Browser ➤ Tap on Profile ➤ Tap on Settings ➤ Enable or disable Download images and videos. Switching this off means pages may load media with a short delay, since content is no longer cached ahead of time.
If you mostly browse on Wi-Fi at home and rarely worry about data usage, leaving the setting on can still make sense for smoother scrolling. On mobile data or with a small plan, turning it off is the more reliable fix for cutting unnecessary consumption.
