Turn On, Off or Auto Camera Flash auf Xiaomi
The Xiaomi camera flash has three states: always on, always off, and automatic. In automatic mode the camera app reads the ambient light sensor and decides on its own whether a shot needs extra light. Forcing the flash on or off overrides that decision permanently until you change it again.
This matters for photo and video capture alike. A flash left on always fires even in daylight, which often washes out close-up shots. A flash left off never fires, which leaves indoor or night shots dark and grainy no matter how good the lighting conditions look on screen.
Menu path
Open the camera app and tap on the flash icon at the top of the viewfinder. Then choose whether the flash stays off, stays on, or switches to automatic:
Tap on Camera ➔ Tap on Flash ➔ Enable or disable Flash
Automatic mode is the safer default for everyday use, since it adapts to changing light without extra taps. Switch to forced on only when you know a shot needs it, for example backlit portraits or fast-moving subjects in dim rooms, and switch back afterward to avoid unnecessary flash pops during video recording.
