Xiaomi: Change Home or Lock Screen Theme

If your Home screen, Lock screen, and app icons suddenly look inconsistent after switching themes, MIUI applied only part of the new theme's assets. This happens when a saved theme only covers some elements, like Lock screen and System, but skips Icons. Picking the wrong theme ('Classic' vs 'Limitless') or a corrupted download can also leave icons untouched while wallpapers change.

Change Home or Lock Screen Theme auf Xiaomi

MIUI splits every theme into separate building blocks: wallpaper, lock screen, system elements, and icons. When only one part looks different after you pick a theme, the app applied the theme partially, and you can fix that from the same menu.

Where the theme settings live

Open Tap on SettingsTap on ThemesSelect a theme or tap on My themesSelect a themeSet Lock / Home screen, System or IconsTap on Apply. This path lets you apply a full theme or only specific parts of it.

By default, MIUI ships with two base themes, Classic and Limitless. Any theme you download afterward can replace wallpaper, lock screen, system look, and icon set together, or you can apply each element separately from the same screen.

If icons stay unchanged while the wallpaper switches, the theme was applied without the Icons option selected. Reopen the theme and tap Apply again, this time confirming every element you actually want changed.

Switching only icons without touching the rest of the theme keeps your current wallpaper and lock screen intact, which helps if you like your setup but want a different icon style. A full theme swap resets all four elements at once and can also change fonts if the theme includes them.
