Change Password for a Saved Wi-Fi Network auf Xiaomi
When a router password changes, phones that already saved that network do not update automatically. Your Xiaomi device keeps trying the old credentials in the background, which is why the connection shows as saved but not active.
MIUI stores each Wi-Fi network with its own password, encryption type, and any proxy or static IP settings you configured. Editing the saved entry keeps those extra settings intact, which is faster than removing the network and setting it up from scratch.
Where to update the password
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Wi-Fi ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Modify network ➔ Enter the Password and Save.
After saving, your phone reconnects with the new credentials automatically. If the connection still fails, double-check the password for typos or confirm the router itself finished applying the change.
This method only works for networks already saved on your phone. For a network you are connecting to for the first time, enter the password directly when selecting it from the Wi-Fi list.
