Check for System Updates auf Xiaomi
Xiaomi phones normally push a notification when a new system update is ready to download. If that notification gets swiped away, dismissed, or arrives while your screen is off, the update stays available but invisible until you look for it yourself.
The update status lives inside the phone information screen, not inside a dedicated update app. MIUI checks its servers only when you open this screen or when it runs its own scheduled background check, which can happen with a delay.
Where to check manually
Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on About phone ➔ Tap on MIUI version ➔ Tap on Check for updates. This screen shows either your current version as up to date, or a new update ready to download and install.
If a large update is listed but does not start downloading, check your Wi-Fi connection first, since many devices block big system files over mobile data. If the screen keeps showing your phone as up to date despite a known rollout, the update may still be staged for your region and not reached your device batch yet.
Manually checking does not fix update loops or failed installations. If an update repeatedly fails after download, that points to storage space or a corrupted update package rather than a missed notification.
