Xiaomi: Set Up the Stopwatch with Lap Times

Lap times captured in the Xiaomi Clock app sometimes vanish once you pause the stopwatch, or tapping Stop clears the whole list instead of just pausing it. This happens because Start, Lap timer, Pause and Stop / Reset are separate controls with distinct effects on the running time and the lap history. Mixing up Pause and Stop is the most common reason lap data gets lost unexpectedly.

Stopwatch: Lap Times, Pause and Reset auf Xiaomi

The stopwatch in the Xiaomi Clock app runs independently from lap tracking, which is why pausing or resetting can behave differently than you expect.

Open Clock and switch to Stopwatch. Tap Start to begin timing. While the stopwatch runs, tap Lap timer to record a split without stopping the main timer, and repeat this for every additional segment you want to capture.

Tap Pause to freeze the current time and lap list on screen. Every recorded lap stays visible, and you can resume counting from the same point later.

Tap Stop / Reset only when you want to clear the timer and lap history completely. This action removes all recorded splits, so note down the times you need before using it.

Confusing Pause with Stop is the main reason lap times disappear unexpectedly. Use Pause for a temporary break and reserve Stop / Reset for finishing the session.

Frequently asked questions

Tapping Pause only freezes the stopwatch and keeps every lap you already recorded on screen. The list stays intact until you tap Stop / Reset.
