Show Connection Speed in Status Bar auf Xiaomi
The connection speed indicator in MIUI displays live network throughput in the top left corner of the status bar, next to the clock. It only reflects active data transfer, so the number stays at zero or hidden whenever the screen is idle and no app is fetching data.
This is normal behavior, not a bug. The value updates the moment you open a webpage, stream video, or start downloading an app, then drops back to zero once the transfer finishes.
To turn the indicator on or off, open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Notifications & Control center ➔ Tap on Status bar ➔ Enable or disable Show connection speed.
This toggle exists on MIUI without needing a specific version, so the menu path stays the same across most Xiaomi phones.
If you need a permanent overview of data usage instead of a live speed reading, check the mobile data or Wi-Fi usage screens in system settings. Those show total consumption per app rather than real-time speed.
Disabling the feature again removes the number from the status bar immediately, without affecting your actual network connection or speed.
