Camera Delay-Timer auf Xiaomi
On Xiaomi phones the camera app takes the photo the moment you press the shutter button. For group shots, selfies on a tripod, or any picture where you need a few extra seconds to get into frame, that instant trigger is the actual problem, not a bug.
MIUI solves this with a delay-timer built into the camera menu rather than the main viewfinder. Open Camera and tap the Menu icon, usually shown as three dots or lines depending on your layout. Inside the menu, look for the timer option and Set the Delay-timer.
You can choose between a 3-second or 5-second delay. Once set, the camera counts down after you tap the shutter, giving you time to step into the shot or steady the phone. The setting stays active until you change it back, so it applies to every photo you take afterward, not just one shot.
When this is not the right fix
If you only need burst shots or continuous shooting, the delay-timer does not help since it only affects the moment the shutter fires once. For remote triggering without touching the phone at all, a Bluetooth shutter remote or voice capture is a better match than the built-in timer.
