Show SIM Card Messages auf Xiaomi
Text messages sent to your phone number can be stored in two different places: the internal message database of your Xiaomi device, or the memory chip built into the SIM card itself. Messages saved directly on the SIM stay there even when you move the card into a different phone, but MIUI keeps them in a separate list instead of merging them with your regular conversations.
This separation exists because the SIM card has very limited storage, so only a portion of your message history usually ends up there, mostly older texts that were never migrated to the phone memory. If your inbox looks incomplete after switching devices or inserting an older SIM, the missing messages are likely sitting in that dedicated SIM storage rather than being deleted.
Where to find SIM card messages in MIUI
Open Messages, then tap the Menu icon and go to Settings. On a dual SIM device, pick the SIM card that stored the old texts, then tap SIM card messages. This opens a separate list showing every SMS still saved on the card, independent of your normal conversation threads.
Keep in mind this list only displays messages, it will not automatically copy them into the main inbox. If you want to keep a message permanently, forward it to yourself or take a screenshot before switching SIM cards again.
