Turn Emergency Alerts On or Off auf Xiaomi
Emergency alerts on Xiaomi phones bundle more than one warning type into a single channel. Extreme threats, severe threats and Amber Alerts (child abduction bulletins) all travel through this system feature, which lives under MIUI security settings rather than the regular notification list.
When the toggle is off, none of these messages reach the device, even during an active severe weather warning. When it is on, the phone can also vibrate or read the alert text aloud, depending on the sub-options placed next to the main switch.
To reach the setting, go to Settings ➔ Passwords & security ➔ Emergency alerts ➔ Enable or disable Emergency alerts.
Turning the feature off makes sense if you already get the same warnings through a carrier app or a dedicated weather app and want to avoid duplicate alerts. Keep it on if you rely on the built-in system for extreme threat notifications, since these are built to override Do Not Disturb on most MIUI builds.
Side effects to expect
Disabling Emergency alerts also mutes Amber Alerts, since both categories share the same switch. If child abduction bulletins matter to you, check for separate category options inside the menu before switching off the whole feature.
