Enable or Disable Spell Check auf Xiaomi
Spell check on a Xiaomi phone underlines words the built-in keyboard does not recognize while you type. It only marks the word and leaves it untouched, which is different from autocorrect, which actively replaces text as you go. Both features live in the same menu but work as separate toggles.
This marking is useful when you write in a mixed vocabulary, use technical terms, or type in more than one language, since it flags anything unfamiliar without forcing a correction. If the underlines feel distracting or you often type slang, brand names, or abbreviations, turning spell check off removes the visual noise while autocorrect keeps working on its own.
To change the setting, go to Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Languages & input ➔ Manage keyboards ➔ Settings ➔ Text correction. From there, enable or disable the Spell check toggle. The path stays the same across MIUI versions, since the keyboard settings are managed independently from the rest of the system menu.
