The rear LED on Xiaomi phones can do more than light up the camera or work as a flashlight. When flash notification for incoming calls is enabled, the same LED blinks repeatedly while the phone rings, giving you a visual signal in addition to the ringtone or vibration.

This setting lives inside the calling accounts area of MIUI, not in the general notification or sound settings, which is why many people never find it. To check or change it, go to Tap on Phone ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Calling accounts ➔ Tap on Incoming call settings ➔ Enable or disable Flash when ringing.

Once enabled, the flash triggers on every incoming call, regardless of whether the screen is on or off. Turning it off stops the blinking but leaves the ringtone and vibration pattern untouched.

If the LED still does not blink after enabling the setting, check whether a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb profile is silencing calls entirely, since some of these modes suppress the flash along with sound and vibration.
