Turn Google Location History On or Off auf Xiaomi
Location History is a Google feature, not a MIUI setting, but it reads GPS data directly from your Xiaomi phone. Once enabled, it logs where the device has been and sends that data to your Google account to build a Timeline and to generate personalized suggestions in Maps.
The tracking does not require an open Google app. As long as location access is granted and you are signed in, Google can collect position data in the background, which is why some users notice it even after force-closing every Google app.
To change the setting, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Location ➔ Tap on Google Location History ➔ Enable or disable Location History. This toggle controls only the Google-side history, separate from the general location permission MIUI grants to individual apps.
Turning it off stops new entries from being saved, but existing Timeline data stays in your Google account until you delete it manually. If you only want to block one specific app from using your location, adjust that app's permission in MIUI instead of disabling Location History entirely, since the Google toggle affects all Google services at once.
