Install an App from the Play Store auf Xiaomi
The Play Store is the built-in app catalog on every Xiaomi phone running MIUI on top of Android. It handles searching, downloading, and updating apps, so anything you install through it stays linked to your Google account and gets automatic updates later.
To add a new app, open Play Store ➔ tap Search bar ➔ Enter a name and choose a suggested app ➔ tap Install. The app downloads and installs automatically, and an icon appears on your home screen once it is ready.
Search results sometimes list multiple apps with similar names or icons. Check the developer name shown under the app title before installing, especially for banking or messaging apps, to avoid picking a fake clone.
If the Install button is greyed out or missing, your device might be missing a signed-in Google account, or storage could be low. In that case, check your account under system settings first instead of retrying the search.
Apps downloaded outside the Play Store, such as APK files from a website, do not go through this same process and will not receive automatic updates through Google. Stick to the Play Store for anything that needs regular security updates.
