Limit Connected Hotspot Devices auf Xiaomi
An open hotspot on MIUI accepts connections from any nearby device until you set a cap. This becomes a problem when neighbors, guests, or unknown devices keep joining without asking, eating into your mobile data or slowing down the connection for the devices you actually want online.
MIUI includes a built-in option to cap the number of devices that can connect to your Portable hotspot at the same time. Once the limit is reached, no additional device can join until one of the connected ones disconnects.
Where to set the limit
Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Portable hotspot ➔ Tap on Connected devices ➔ Tap on Limit of connected devices ➔ Set a Limit of connected devices.
Choose a number that matches your household or team. A lower limit reduces the risk of unknown devices sneaking onto your hotspot, but it also blocks legitimate devices once the cap is hit.
If you need stronger protection instead of just a device count, combine this with a strong hotspot password rather than relying on the limit alone.
