Lock Home Screen Layout auf Xiaomi
MIUI runs a background routine that reorganizes your home screen automatically. It fills empty grid cells after you uninstall an app, and it can react to a physical shake gesture that shuffles icons into a tidy grid. Both behaviors come from the same home screen management feature and run without asking for confirmation.
Locking the layout switches that behavior off. Icons, folders and widgets stay exactly where you placed them, even after uninstalls, restarts or accidental shakes. The setting works system-wide and does not depend on a specific launcher theme.
Where to find the lock
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Home screen ➔ Enable or disable Lock Home screen layout. Toggle it on to freeze the current arrangement, or off to let MIUI rearrange icons again.
Use this lock if you share your phone with kids, or if a case in your pocket keeps triggering the shake-to-organize gesture. Skip it if you install and remove apps often and prefer MIUI to fill gaps automatically, since locking also blocks that convenience.
The setting only affects layout position. It does not restrict app installs, hide apps, or add a password to the home screen itself.
