Turn Mobile Data On or Off auf Xiaomi
Mobile data lets your Xiaomi phone connect to the internet through the cellular network instead of Wi-Fi. If this toggle is off, apps that need a live connection stop updating as soon as you leave a wireless network.
On MIUI, the switch sits under network settings, separate from Wi-Fi and Airplane mode. It gets disabled automatically in some cases, for example after switching SIM cards, updating the system, or enabling Airplane mode temporarily.
Where to find the setting
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on SIM cards & mobile networks ➔ Enable or disable Mobile data. Toggle the switch on to allow data traffic over the cellular network, or off to stop it completely.
Turning mobile data off is useful when you want to avoid data charges while traveling or rely only on Wi-Fi. Keep in mind that a correct APN is required alongside mobile data being on. If the APN is missing or wrong, you will still see no internet even with the toggle enabled, since carrier settings usually configure this automatically but can occasionally fail after a SIM swap.
