Move Photos or Videos into an Album auf Xiaomi
On Xiaomi phones, every photo and video first lands in the main Gallery feed, sorted only by date. Without albums, locating an older screenshot or a specific trip photo means scrolling through months of unrelated shots.
Gallery lets you sort files into albums manually, but it always asks whether the file should be moved or copied once you pick a destination. This step exists because Move removes the file from its original location, while Copy leaves a duplicate behind and keeps the original untouched. Choosing the wrong one either clutters your storage with duplicates or breaks links other apps had to the original file location.
Move a photo or video into an album
Open Gallery and tap and hold a photo or video until it gets selected. Tap Select more Photos/Videos if you want to move several files at once, then tap Add to album. Choose an existing album or create a new one, and confirm with Choose Move or Copy.
Pick Move only if you no longer need the file in its original folder. If another app, a backup routine, or a shared folder still expects the file at its original path, use Copy instead to avoid breaking that reference.
