Show Only Local Albums in Gallery auf Xiaomi
When the MIUI Cloud backs up your photos, the Gallery app tries to show every album that exists online, even if nothing from that album is stored on your phone. This mixes local folders with cloud-only entries, which can make browsing slower and confusing, especially on a limited data plan.
The setting Only show local albums filters the album list down to what is physically saved on the device. Cloud albums stay untouched in MIUI Cloud, they just disappear from the Gallery overview until you switch the option back off.
To change it, open Gallery ➔ tap the Menu icon ➔ go to Settings ➔ enable or disable Only show local albums.
Turning the toggle on is useful when storage is tight or when you want the Gallery to load faster without pulling thumbnails from the cloud. Turning it off again shows the full picture, including albums that only live in MIUI Cloud and have not been downloaded yet.
If photos still appear missing after enabling the filter, check whether they were only ever backed up to the cloud and never saved locally. Downloading them first is the better fix rather than adjusting this display setting.
