One-Handed Keyboard Mode auf Xiaomi
A full-width keyboard forces your thumb to travel across the entire screen with every tap. On larger Xiaomi phones this quickly becomes uncomfortable when you are holding the device in one hand, for example on a bus or while carrying something in the other hand.
One-handed mode shrinks the keyboard and shifts it to the left or right edge of the screen, so every key stays within thumb reach. This only changes the layout of the built-in keyboard app itself, it does not resize any other part of the interface.
You find the option here: Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Additional settings ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Manage keyboards ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Preferences ➔ Tap on One-handed mode ➔ Choose an option. Pick left-handed or right-handed mode depending on which hand you type with.
Once enabled, a small arrow or handle usually appears on the keyboard edge, letting you resize or move it further, or switch back to the full layout. If you use a third-party keyboard app instead of the default one, look for the same setting inside that app, since Xiaomi's system menu only controls its own keyboard.
If your main issue is that the keyboard itself is too small or too large rather than off-center, check the keyboard height or size settings in the same Preferences menu instead of one-handed mode.
