Turn Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot On or Off auf Xiaomi
Portable hotspot on Xiaomi phones shares your mobile data connection with other devices over Wi-Fi. It relies on the same radio as your mobile signal, so it only works when your SIM has an active data plan.
If devices cannot find or join the network, the hotspot toggle itself is usually off, or the network name and password were changed and forgotten during setup. MIUI keeps every related option, including the toggle, network name and password, on a single screen.
To switch it on or off, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Portable hotspot ➔ Enable or disable Portable hotspot. From the same screen you can also rename the network and set a new password without turning the hotspot off first.
Portable hotspot drains the battery faster and counts against your mobile data allowance, so it is not the right fix if you only need a quick file transfer between two phones nearby, or if your plan has little data left. In that case, a direct Bluetooth or cable connection saves battery and data.
If the toggle is on but devices still cannot connect, check that mobile data itself is active, since portable hotspot depends on it.
