Xiaomi: Turn Quick Responses On or Off for Calls

When a call comes in and you cannot pick up, MIUI can send the caller a short text instead of just cutting them off. If that automatic reply keeps firing at the wrong moments or refuses to trigger at all, the Quick responses feature needs a check.

Turn Quick Responses On or Off auf Xiaomi

Quick responses let your Xiaomi phone send a short text reply when you reject or ignore an incoming call. The feature sits inside the Phone app settings, not in the general system settings, which is why many people struggle to find it.

If the option is switched off, rejecting a call just ends it silently with no message sent. If it is on but the wording feels off or outdated, you can edit each response individually instead of only toggling the whole feature.

Menu path

Open PhoneMenuSettingsQuick responses. From there, Enable or disable Quick responses switches the entire feature on or off. Tap any existing message under Choose a Quick response to edit it to rewrite the text.

Changes apply immediately, so the next rejected call will use the updated wording. If the setting appears greyed out, make sure the Phone app has the required permissions, since Quick responses relies on the default messaging channel to send the reply.

Frequently asked questions

Check that the toggle under PhoneMenuSettingsQuick responsesEnable or disable Quick responses is actually switched on. Also confirm the caller's number can receive text messages, since some call types like VoIP contacts cannot.
