Adjust Ringtone Volume for Calls and Notifications auf Xiaomi
Xiaomi splits sound behavior into several independent sliders instead of one master volume control. Calls, notifications and reminders each get their own level inside MIUI, which is why a phone can ring loudly during a call while every notification stays silent.
The setting responsible sits in the sound and vibration menu, not in the general volume rocker. Pressing the physical volume buttons usually changes whichever sound category is active on screen at that moment, so it does not reliably fix a ringtone that stays too quiet or too loud once the call ends.
To adjust it directly, open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Sound & vibration ➔ Swipe left or right to adjust the Ringtone volume. Moving this slider changes only the ringtone level, leaving reminders and notification sounds untouched.
This separation matters when a phone needs to stay quiet in meetings but still has to alert for reminders, or when calls need to stand out from regular notification pings. If the ringtone stays muted even after raising the slider, check whether a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb is active, since those override the slider regardless of its position.
Lowering the ringtone too far can lead to missed calls in noisy environments, so test the new level after saving changes.
