Scan QR Codes Automatically with the Camera App auf Xiaomi
Xiaomi phones can read QR codes directly in the built-in camera app, but the feature depends on a setting inside Smart suggestions. If that toggle is off, the camera behaves like a plain photo tool and never shows a scan prompt, even when a code is clearly in frame.
To turn the function on, go to Camera ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Smart suggestions ➔ enable Scan QR codes. Once active, simply point the camera at a QR code on packaging, a poster, or a shipping label. A small banner appears automatically, letting you open the link or content without switching apps.
Disabling the same toggle stops the camera from analyzing codes in the frame, which can help if you often photograph objects that contain QR patterns and do not want constant scan pop-ups. Other camera modes and smart suggestions, like document or text detection, are not affected by this setting.
If the option is missing from Smart suggestions, check whether Smart suggestions itself is enabled first, since the QR toggle only appears once that section is active.
