Start the Screen Recorder auf Xiaomi
The screen recorder on Xiaomi phones sits inside the expanded Quick Settings panel, not on the first row you see when you pull down the status bar. That is why many users overlook it and assume the feature does not exist on their device.
To start a recording, open Swipe downwards to open Control center ➔ Swipe downwards to access more Quick settings ➔ Tap on Screen recorder. A short countdown appears before capture begins, and once recording starts, MIUI overlays a floating control bar with pause and stop buttons.
This control bar automatically shrinks after about two seconds to avoid blocking content on screen. It does not disappear completely, it collapses into a small tab that you can tap again to bring back the full controls.
If you only need a still image instead of a video, use the screenshot shortcut instead, since the recorder keeps running until you stop it manually and produces a video file in your gallery. Recording also stops automatically if the phone locks or the storage runs low, so check available space beforehand for longer captures.
