Change the Default Keyboard auf Xiaomi
On Xiaomi phones running MIUI, Gboard is the keyboard active by default. Installing a third-party keyboard, such as SwiftKey or a language-specific app, only adds it to the list of available input methods. It does not make it the keyboard that opens automatically when you tap a text field.
To change that, MIUI needs you to confirm the new default manually. Go to Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Languages & input ➔ Current Keyboard, then set the keyboard you want under Default keyboard.
This setting applies system-wide, so every app that uses the on-screen keyboard will switch to your chosen input method. If the new keyboard does not appear in the list yet, open it once from its own app first so MIUI registers it as installed.
Switching the default does not delete Gboard or your saved dictionaries. You can switch back the same way at any time, which is useful if a specific app works better with one keyboard over another.
