Xiaomi: Add an Alternate Calendar to Your Calendar App

The Xiaomi Calendar app shows the Gregorian calendar by default. For anyone tracking religious holidays, cultural dates or a second civil calendar, this single view is not enough.

MIUI lets you add a second date system that runs alongside the main calendar. Once active, the extra dates show up next to Gregorian ones in month view and inside event details.

How to enable an alternate calendar

Open the path below inside the Calendar app: Tap on Calendar ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on General ➔ Tap on Alternate calendar ➔ Set an Alternate calendar.

From the list, pick one of the available systems: Chinese Calendar, Simplified Chinese Calendar, Traditional Hebrew calendar, Hijri calendar, or Civil Hijri calendar. The choice applies immediately, no restart needed.

What changes after activation

Dates from the selected calendar appear as small secondary numbers under the Gregorian date. Event creation screens also display both dates, which helps when scheduling around religious or cultural observances.

You can switch to a different alternate calendar or turn the feature off at any time by returning to the same menu. Only one alternate calendar can be active at once.
