Xiaomi: Mark a Contact as Favorite

If a contact you call or message often gets buried in a long list, you probably haven't set it as a favorite yet. Favorites move straight to the top of the Contacts app and speed up dialing from the Phone app. It's a quick toggle, but easy to miss since it's tucked inside the contact detail view.

Mark Contact as Favorite auf Xiaomi

Contacts you call or text regularly stay easier to reach once marked as favorites. On MIUI, favorites are pinned to the top of the Contacts app instead of sitting in alphabetical order with everyone else.

The favorite status is stored per contact and works independently of call logs or chat history. Even if you clear your recent calls, favorite contacts stay pinned and remain quickly accessible from the Phone app for faster dialing.

How to mark a contact as favorite

Open the Contacts app and go to Tap on Contacts. From the list, Choose a Contact you want to pin. Inside the contact details, Tap on Favorite to mark it.

The contact now shows up in the favorites section at the top of your contact list. Repeat the process for any other contact you call or message often.

Removing a contact from favorites

To undo this, open the same contact and tap the favorite icon again. This removes it from the favorites section without deleting the contact itself or affecting your message history.

This setting only changes how the contact is displayed and sorted. It does not create shortcuts on your home screen or change notification behavior for that contact.

Frequently asked questions

No. The favorite status only affects sorting in the Contacts app and quick access in the Phone app. Notification behavior for calls and messages stays unchanged.
