Xiaomi: Show or Hide Holidays in Calendar

If your Xiaomi calendar looks packed with public holidays you never asked for, real appointments and reminders get buried fast. This clutter often comes from a default setting that pulls in every regional or national holiday for your account. Turning that display on or off only takes a moment once you know where MIUI hides the switch.

Show or Hide Holidays in Calendar auf Xiaomi

The Calendar app on Xiaomi phones shows public and national holidays by default. This comes from a built-in holiday layer tied to your region, separate from any calendar account you have added.

When you also sync appointments from Google, Outlook or a local account, the holiday entries stack on top of everything else. The result is a calendar view where real meetings and reminders get harder to spot among the extra entries.

MIUI keeps the toggle for this inside the calendar app itself, not in the system settings. Open Tap on CalendarOpen the MenuEnable or disable Holidays to switch the display on or off.

Turning holidays off removes them only from the visual overview. It does not delete any of your own events, appointments, or synced entries from other accounts.

If you only want to hide holidays from one specific account rather than all of them, check that account's own sync settings instead. This holiday toggle affects the general calendar view, not individual account filters.

Frequently asked questions

No. Disabling the holiday display through Tap on CalendarOpen the MenuEnable or disable Holidays only hides them from view. You can turn the toggle back on anytime to bring them back.
