Xiaomi: Sort Call History by First or Last Name

If your Xiaomi call log jumps between names in an order that does not match your contacts list, the first/last name setting is likely mismatched with how you saved those contacts. This makes it harder to spot a recent call quickly, especially when several contacts share a first name or you saved people by surname. The display order in the call log can be changed independently from how contacts are named.

Sort Call History by First or Last Name auf Xiaomi

The call history on a Xiaomi phone can list entries by first name or last name, independent of how contacts are stored elsewhere on the device. When this setting does not match your saved contact format, names in the call log can look out of order, making it harder to scan for a specific person after a busy day of calls.

This sort order is controlled inside the Phone app itself, not in a separate Contacts app. Switching it applies to the entire call history list at once, so every entry reflects the new order immediately.

How to change the sort order

Open PhoneMenuSettingsDisplay optionsSort by, then choose First name or Last name.

If contacts were saved with only one name field filled in, that entry still appears under whichever option is picked, since there is no second name to sort by. This setting affects display order only and does not rename or edit any contact.

Frequently asked questions

No. The Sort by option under PhoneMenuSettingsDisplay options only controls the call history list. The separate contacts list may have its own sort setting.
