Xiaomi: Change the Calendar Start of Week

If your calendar always opens on a Sunday even though you expect Monday to be the first column, the app is just following the region setting on your phone. This mismatch makes weekly planning confusing, especially when you compare dates with colleagues or family using a different week layout. A quick setting inside the Calendar app fixes the view for good.

Set Start of Week in Calendar auf Xiaomi

The Xiaomi Calendar app picks the first day of the week automatically based on your phone region. That is why some users see Monday as the start while others get Sunday or Saturday by default, without ever changing a setting themselves.

This regional default does not always match personal habits or work schedules. If your team plans weeks starting Monday but your calendar grid starts on Sunday, every weekly view looks shifted and makes quick date comparisons harder.

You can override the region default directly inside the app. Open CalendarOpen the MenuTap on SettingsTap on GeneralTap on Start of the week, then choose Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

The change applies instantly to the monthly and weekly grid views. Existing events keep their dates and times; only the column order in the calendar layout changes.

If you use a separate calendar app synced with your Google or Xiaomi account, check that app's own settings too, since this option only affects the built-in Calendar app on Android with MIUI.

Frequently asked questions

No. The setting only changes how days are arranged in the grid inside the built-in Calendar app. Event dates, times and sync with Google Calendar stay untouched.
