Switch Between Front and Rear Camera auf Xiaomi
The Xiaomi Camera app opens with the rear camera active by default, since it delivers the higher resolution and better detail for everyday shots. Switching to the front camera happens through a single control on the camera screen, not through a settings menu.
To switch between front and rear camera, open Camera and tap the Camera switch button. This toggles the active lens instantly, without leaving the viewfinder or interrupting a video recording in progress.
In low light, the front camera has no physical flash, so MIUI simulates one by lighting up the entire display in white right before the shot. This brief flash of brightness is a software workaround, not an actual hardware flash, and it only appears for front camera shots taken in dim conditions.
If the switch button seems unresponsive or missing, the camera might be mid-recording or running a mode that locks the lens, such as certain panorama or slow motion modes. Closing and reopening the Camera app usually resets the control.
The same switch button works during video recording, letting you flip between front and rear camera without stopping the clip, though there may be a short pause while the sensor adjusts focus and exposure.
