Xiaomi: Add a Time Stamp to Photos

Xiaomi's camera app hides the timestamp overlay by default, so most photos leave the gallery without any visible date or time. The setting responsible for this lives inside the camera's own menu, not in the general system settings, which is why many people miss it.

Open Camera ➔ Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Watermark and enable Add time stamp on photos. MIUI then prints the current date and time in the lower right corner of every picture you take afterward, based on the time your phone had set at the moment of capture.

The stamp only applies going forward. Photos already stored in the gallery keep their original state, and turning the option off later removes the overlay for new shots only, without touching existing files.

A timestamp helps document repairs, deliveries, or inspections where proof of date matters. For everyday photography, many people leave it disabled, since the overlay becomes a permanent part of the image and cannot be removed afterward without cropping or editing the photo.
