Fingerprint Scan for Privacy Password: Enable or Disable auf Xiaomi
The Privacy password on MIUI protects app lock and hidden content with its own PIN, pattern, or password, separate from the phone's main lock screen. By default, your fingerprint can also unlock this Privacy password, which speeds up access but skips the manual entry step entirely.
This matters because the Privacy password is often the last barrier around sensitive apps or hidden files. If fingerprint unlock is active for it, anyone who can place a registered finger on the sensor gets in without knowing the actual password.
To change this setting, go to Settings ➔ Passwords & security ➔ Fingerprint unlock. Enter your current pattern, PIN, or password when asked, then find the option to enable or disable the Privacy password toggle.
Turning it off forces password entry every time, which is stronger if you share your device or worry about someone using your fingerprint without permission. Turning it on saves time but treats fingerprint and password as equally trusted for that specific protection layer.
If fingerprint unlock feels unreliable or the sensor misreads often, disabling it here avoids lockouts tied to hardware issues rather than the password itself.
