Turn Location Access On or Off auf Xiaomi
When location access is switched off on a Xiaomi phone, every app loses GPS positioning at once, regardless of the individual permission you granted it earlier. This is a system-wide toggle in MIUI, not a per-app setting, so photos stop getting geotagged, maps cannot center on your position, and weather widgets fall back to a default city.
The toggle sits in the general Settings menu, separate from the app-specific permission list. Enabling it again restores location for every app that already has permission - you do not need to grant access a second time.
To change the setting, follow this path: Settings ➔ Location ➔ enable or disable Location access.
Turn location off if you want to save battery or block tracking across all apps at once. If only one app should stop using your position while others keep working, adjust that app's individual permission instead of the master switch - this keeps GPS available for navigation or delivery apps while restricting the rest.
One side effect: some apps show a permission prompt again after you re-enable location, especially if they cached the denied state. Restarting the app usually clears this.
