Vibration in Silent Mode: Turn On or Off auf Xiaomi
Setting a Xiaomi phone to Silent only mutes the ringtone. Vibration for calls and notifications stays active by default, which is why the device still buzzes on a desk or in a pocket even though no sound plays.
This behavior comes from a separate toggle inside the sound settings, independent of the physical ringer switch or the volume slider. MIUI treats 'silent' and 'no vibration' as two different states, so muting the ringer alone does not stop the buzzing.
Where to find the toggle
Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Sound & vibration ➔ Enable or disable Vibrate in silent mode. Disabling this option stops all vibration while the phone is muted. Enabling it restores the buzz for calls and messages, while sound stays off.
Turning vibration off here only affects behavior while Silent mode is active. If you switch back to normal ringer mode, vibration settings for calls and notifications are controlled separately and are not changed by this toggle.
If you only want to stop vibration for specific apps rather than everywhere, check the notification settings of that app instead. This system-wide toggle applies to every app that vibrates when Silent mode is on.
