Turn On/Off Google Voice Typing auf Xiaomi
Google voice typing sits inside the keyboard settings on Xiaomi phones, separate from the regular keyboard layout options. When it is turned off, the microphone icon disappears from the keyboard bar and speech never gets converted into text.
This usually happens after a system update, a keyboard app reset, or when a different input method was set as default. The setting itself does not disappear from the phone, it just gets toggled off and needs to be switched back on manually.
To fix it, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Additional settings ➔ Tap on Languages & input ➔ Tap on Manage keyboards ➔ Enable or disable Google voice typing.
Once enabled, the microphone icon returns to the keyboard bar in any app that uses text input, from messaging apps to notes. If you only need voice input occasionally, leaving it enabled has no noticeable effect on battery or performance, since it stays inactive until you tap the icon.
If the microphone icon is already visible but voice recognition still fails, the issue is more likely a missing microphone permission or a language pack problem rather than this setting.
