Volume Buttons Function for Camera auf Xiaomi
By default, MIUI assigns the volume buttons in the Camera app to the shutter, with an optional countdown timer running before the picture is taken. This works fine for quick snapshots, but it gets in the way if you want the volume buttons to behave differently while framing a shot.
The assignment lives inside the Camera app itself, not in the general system settings. MIUI keeps this setting active across normal app updates, but it can reset if you clear the camera app data or reinstall the app.
To change it, follow this path: Tap on Camera ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Volume buttons function ➔ Choose an option.
From there you can pick between Shutter and Shutter countdown, depending on whether you want an instant capture or a short delay before the photo is taken.
If you shoot selfies or group photos, the countdown option gives you time to get into position. If you photograph fast-moving subjects, the plain shutter option avoids missing the moment.
This setting only affects the physical volume buttons while the Camera app is open. It does not change how the buttons behave in other apps or on the lock screen.
