Turn Web Link Previews On or Off auf Xiaomi
When link previews stop showing up in Xiaomi Messages, or appear for content you did not expect, the cause is almost always the Automatic previews setting inside the app. This option decides whether Messages fetches a snapshot of a linked page and displays it as a small preview card directly in the conversation.
MIUI offers three states for this feature: previews for every supported link, previews limited to web addresses only, or previews disabled entirely. Switching between them changes both the look of your conversations and how much data the app loads from external pages in the background.
To change the behavior, open Tap on Messages ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on General ➔ Tap on Automatic previews. From there, pick Show all previews if you want a preview for every shared link, or Show only web link previews if plain website links should be the only ones expanded.
Turning previews off completely stops Messages from loading any external content when a link arrives. This is useful if you want to save mobile data or avoid the app automatically connecting to unfamiliar pages before you decide to open them yourself.
