Xiaomi: Add a City to the World Clock

Your Xiaomi phone only shows the time for your home region, and comparing time zones means switching apps constantly. The World Clock widget can hold several cities at once, but the option to add one sits inside a menu that is easy to overlook. Removing a city later works differently too, since it needs a long-press instead of a simple delete button.

Add a City to World Clock auf Xiaomi

The World Clock app on Xiaomi phones only shows your current time zone until you add extra cities by hand. This function lives inside the Clock app itself, not in system Settings, which is why the option is often hard to find.

To add a city, open ClockWorld clockAdd, then choose the city you want to track from the list. MIUI adds the entry with its live local time and keeps it updated automatically, including daylight saving changes.

You can repeat this for several cities, which is useful for coordinating calls, meetings, or flights across time zones. Each entry also shows the time difference against your home zone.

Removing a city works differently from adding one. Long-press the entry until it gets marked, then tap the delete icon that appears at the bottom of the screen. A normal tap on the entry does nothing.

If you actually need your phone's system time zone changed, rather than just a reference clock, adjust the date and time settings instead. World Clock only stores reference cities and has no effect on your device's own clock or time zone.

Frequently asked questions

No. Once a city is already in your list, it stays grayed out or unavailable when you search for it again under Add.
