Zoom In and Out in the Camera App auf Xiaomi
The Xiaomi Camera app offers two independent ways to change the zoom level while framing a shot. Mixing up the gesture and the slider control is the most common reason zooming feels inconsistent.
The slider method gives more precise control over the zoom level, especially at higher magnification. Tap on Camera to open the app, then tap and hold the zoom indicator on screen. While holding, swipe left or right to move the zoom level up or down in small steps.
This works well for gradual adjustments, for example switching between wide and telephoto framing without overshooting the target zoom level.
The pinch gesture works independently of the slider. Place two fingers on the preview screen and spread them apart to zoom in, or pinch them together to zoom out.
This gesture is faster for quick, large jumps in zoom level but offers less fine control than the slider. Some Xiaomi models and camera versions add extra zoom shortcuts, such as tappable lens buttons for switching between wide, standard, and telephoto lenses instantly.
If those shortcuts are missing on your device, the pinch gesture and the slider remain the reliable fallback options in every camera version.
